I don't understand how you can miss it--it is right above marked- "Used, new parts/"Books"/ Repairs--where to find- Do you have the Maintance Manual ( also called an I & O Maual) for that model ? It will show you the "blackhead" cartridge--those are rebuildable. Ron Rich

Here is what you should be seeing on the jukebox forum's index page.

Click on "Board index"--go to the jukebox section, and you will see it--
You have an aftermarket "Thorpe" cartridge in that phono-- Ron Rich

I have replaced the cartridge with a new one with new needles and one side still does not play good. The music is garbled. The other side sounds fine. I have a MRA4-L6 AMP that has not been rebuilt.
Thanks
Bob

Bob,
The only difference in sides is the tone arm pressure, and how wire "follows". Check that it is free, and not "shorting" out somewhere on the "bad side". The amp, tho it should be rebuilt, can not distinguish the side that's playing
What type cart is now installed ? Which needles, at what pressure ?

I just replaced the Thorpe Grey and White with a Vern Tisdale Cartridge and needles.

Bob,
That's half of the answer--what are the needle pressures ?

I do not have a gauge to check or set pressure. Can it be done without it? If not where can I get a gauge? I just discovered something else, when the record is turning clockwise, looking at the right side, it is fine but when it is turning counterclockwise it makes a ticking sound. Is there any chance the motor is running slower in one direction?
Thanks
Bob

Bob,
I believe any of the suppliers listed above have needle pressure gauges for sale--It can be done, but it takes LOTZA practice---
The "clicking" sound usually indicates lack of,or improper oil in the mechanism--doubt the motor speed is slower-- Ron Rich

Bob,
That info, and a good drawing, with "adjustment procedure" is in your service manual--

Hello, new to the forum, but wanted to get back to the wiring for the M100C motor start capacitor. Understood the wiring colors are not consistent. Not that I'm sure it helps, but the motor housing cover has "March 1952" stamped inside.

The wires leading to the old motor start capacitor are black, green, and what appears to be "off" yellow or faded orange. Not sure If the latter is really old, grimy, oil stained white. But, since I've seen references to yellow wires showing up in these, thought I'd throw the query here. 1.4 to ?, common to ?, and 1.0 to ?

This machine is a basement estate sale find. It's like a time capsule. All original, pretty complete--missing the light diffuser, lamp and starter for the fluorescent behind the selection trays (now replaced) and has the chrome pilasters, hence no animation gear. Also has 11 of the original 12 glass tubes, in very nice shape.

Before I bought it, the owners fired it up and it selected and played a 45, speed good at start, slowed, then back up to speed. Figure that is probably a combination of dried lubrication and, possibly, the motor start capacitor. Did not hear any hum or crackling when it was run. Has a new (according to owners) Seeburg red cartridge in it (also has an envelope with the old one, plus another that has one of the two connection pins broken off--any way or point to fixing it?)

Have not run it since then, slowly cleaning and lubing it up. Checking tubes--has three Seeburgs that check out as good on my tube tester.

History of the unit--Prev Owner was a musician. Played a bar in PA ('70's??). Jukebox was not working in said bar. Bar owner sold it to the guy for $5. Somehow put it in the back of his old convertible (what a sight!) and got it home. Over time, he had someone get it working (not sure what that required). Finish on the case is like a fine "spatter paint" wall paper--absolutely looks old, if not original. It's in pretty good shape, with expected wear.

Anyway, looking for the wiring answer. Thanks!

According to the service manual (please see "Atten Newbies" above !!) the 1.4 goes to the "O" contact the C to the upper left motor contact on the four position "tie strip"--and the 1.0 goes to the upper right side of that same tie strip. Ron Rich
