Hi Mike,
What happens if you switch the service switch to "normal" and the audit switch to play? (One of the two is not in the position to operate this phono ). Then select a 100 and 200 hundred selection ? Are **GOOD** batteries installed in the MCU ?? Ron Rich

Hello Ron,

Thanks for your answer!
Here is an new video when both switches are set to normal play, it doesn't matter if i select an 100 or 200 selection.
PS there whas no single on both selections that I made, and battery's are replaced.

Hi Mike,
It is failing to detent when scanning from right to left--If you play a B side (say222) with the mechanism starting at the 179 end, will it detent and play it going from right to left or does it travel to the 100 end first ? What happens if you play BOTH sides of ONE record stating the scan from both the 100 end once, and then do the same, starting at the 179 end ?? Ron Rich

Hi Ron,

Thanks for your response!

I tryed both things, but when aim starting from 179, it will going to 100 and then go to the selected selection.
Some times it will pick up an single from the 179 site but than it has picked up the wrong single because it skipped almost 7 counting steps when it starts.
So there is an counting problem when it starts from the 179 site.

Hi Mike,
I don't think there is a "counting problem"--I think that there is a failure to detent, problem, when traveling right to left--.
Did you do as I said and select BOTH sides of a record, in both directions ?? If so, what were the results ? Ron Rich

Hi Ron,

Tryed both tings, but when aim selected both sides of a record. It plays both sides without scanning.
But when I start it from the right site, its going to the left site (100) and than got to his selections on the same record.

Do you want that I make an video or someting?
Will this problem maybe resolved when we buy an mcu gen2?
And do you have also manuals for me?

Thanks!

HI Mike,
It is supposed to play both sides, without scanning !
No, don't need another video--I now know that it is failing to trigger the detent triac on the 200 scan side only.
If this was a Gen 2 computer, one could use the "diagnostics" to pin this down further, but I am about 99% sure that the problem lies within the Inter-Face Board (IFB) in the PCC. If you have the ability, you can fix that board, or, if not, and you wish, you can send it t me, and I will repair it--PM me if you wish to send it to me. Ron Rich

Hi Ron,

Thanks for your message.
I used an original msu module.

Do you maybe know what part can be defect? Aim having some skills with soldering.
I have already checked the print but didnt find any damage chips when looking.

Do you have also manuals for me that I can buy?

Thanks.

Hi Mike,
No,I would need to trouble shoot that board to see what's defective--could be as simple as an open trace, or possibly two-or more IC's failing ? No way for me to tell without putting it on the test jig--
As for "books, the only one I sell, I wrote, which is applicable to the SMC's, is a guide for the mechanism--NOT the selection system--For Service/parts/ I&O Manuals, see the above post"--used/new parts books-Where to find---" Ron Rich

Hi Ron,

Thanks for your reply.
Do you have maybe some steps how i can check witch ic is defect?

Can you also deliver an 3de print for the mcu coin registration? Or do you maybe someone?

And what will be the price for your book? And is it possible to send it by pdf file?

Thanks!

Hi Mike,
No --I can't tell you how to do that--I would be sitting here "writing"for a week ! --one just must follow the schematic and find the fault.
"Coin info" is included in the I and O manual, sold with the Service Manual PACKAGE, by the people listed above.
You may purchase my Seeburg Mechanism Guide, directly from me using the PM system on this forum. Ron Rich
