The "buzzing" you heard "coming from the Tormat", was not from the Tormat--nothing in there to "buzz"--
Your problem with buzzing, AND, the selection now playing lamps, is that the 1/2 amp (hopefully), slow-blow fuse on the FRONT (your service manual, may show this as the rear) of the mechanism is blown. The reason for this is mal-adjusted 3M-13 and 3M-14 contacts on the mech., which was causing the popularity meter coil to remain energized. Now that you have blown the fuse, the coil is relaxed, however it will no longer function. See your service manual for proper adjustment, after which, you will need to replace the fuse with the size and type shown above. If the fuse was any larger then 1/2 amp, check that the coil has not "burned up" (shorted) prior to, replacing the fuse ! Ron Rich
