FIX: Rowe WP-100 power supply low 12 volts

Jukebox: Rowe WP-100A wall mount "Berkeley".

Symptom: The +12 volts DC is running very low, less than 5 volts measured at J4 on power supply # 40897301 (also known as part number 61112201 ). The CBA-2 bill acceptor would not power up because the 12 volts was too low.

Cause: Bridge rectifier D14 is bad on the circuit board inside the 40897301 power supply.

Solution: Replace the bridge rectifier D14. The original is type RS 603 (6 amps, 200 volt, inline leads). I used a type KBU6G which is a direct replacement. Once replaced the 12 volts returned to normal and the bill acceptor operated normally again.

Be advised the Field Service Manual & Parts Catalog # 21822646 Revision J has an omission in it. On page 5-38 the Component List For Power Supply 61112201 the listing for the diodes and rectifiers stops at D13. They don't even list D14 even though it is present on the schematic on page 5-36.

One other thing to note. The silkscreening on the face of the 40897301 power supply I worked on had "J2" duplicated on the wrong connector. The connector on the far left with the red and black wires is really "J4" but they labeled it J2 by mistake.

Ken,
There are "lotza" errors in that phono. and book. I have seen paper "stick-on"s" covering that "J-2" silk screen--
And somewhere around here I have a copy of the vol 2 WP-100 book that is the 17 th printing--and STILL has some "stuff" wrong-- Ron Rich
