AMI Jukebox on freeplay

by Gordo » Mon Mar 02, 2009 6:52 am

Hi,

I have an AMI Jukebox (model K) on freeplay. Can anyone tell me how to put it back onto coin? All the coin mech is in the machine and looks in good condition.

I assumed a set of points would be bent together or jumpered, however I cannot find anything that makes sense to me.

Thanks

Gordo....

Gordo,
All of that model that I have seen, have been put free play the same way--power to the (two in series) subtract coil was cut. On most of them, the series connection between the two coils was simply cut, with a wire-cutter. You may need to "clean-up" all moving parts, as they probably have been "sitting" for a long while. Hi Ron,

Thanks for the tip. Where are the coils located?

Cheers

Hi Gordon,

The coils are located on Credit Unit (credit clock). It would orginally have had a clear plastic cover over it to protect the wiper area. The best way to clean the printed circuit board is to clean it with a pencil rubber (eraser) this will clean all the tarnish away without damaging the board.

The Credit unit may be located on the lefthand side of the jukebox when you look into it from the front, this was Rowe Ami's usual arangement.
