Need Help

Hey all, I am new to the record player and phonograph game and I came across a piece of equipment that I need help with. I believe it is an RCA and I am thinking from the 1950's but I am unsure. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks

It's a circa-late 1930s/early 1940s model that has been refitted with a late 1950s/early 1960s multi-speed turntable.

I can make out "Model 70," but can't see the rest.

Thanks Joe for your help. I was able to make out the same model number information because part of it appears to be scratched. If anyone else has some more information or resources it would be appreciated.

The record changer is made by Webcor Corp. - as for the unit itself, I cannot state who made it, other than it's an early-mid 1950's unit.
No name on the radio dial?
Bottom line, don't plug it in, have it restored first - it's electrically unsafe as is.

That late? The reason I said 1930s-40s was because the cabinet is done in the high Art Deco style, with the ebony painted bands, rounded corners, mirrored veneer effects, etc. (Also because of the dark brown Bakelite knobs, which are nearly identical to those from a 1940s model I used to have.) Looking over the mid-1950s units via Google's image search, most are squared off, slightly angled boxes.

But then again, I'm no expert when it comes to something with a plug.... ...so it could be this style carried over until about the early 1950s.

Based on the fact that it's produced under license from RCA, it could be some department store off-brand. In that case, knowing the model number might not be much help.

Indeed, it could be anything, without some more identification.
But that changer is a mid-50's Webcor for sure.

That is correct, Ronald.

Virtually all equipment had that disclaimer.

I spotted "CR&TC" in the second photo. I also noted the Chicago address in the top photo. That means it was probably made by Continental Radio and Television Corp. (later known as Admiral).

I did some wildcard Google searches using the available portion of the model number to see if I could come up with anything. Nothing.
