At the risk of humiliation, I didnt find a 25V AC adapter on Amazon, just 12 and 24. I assume when I find it it will be a wall plug and I cut the ends off and add the connectors I need?

What size bulbs are those little guys as well?

"25" is a "nominal figure"--anything from about 23 to 30 usually works in the wallboxes--
What is the number(s) on the lamps themselves ? Or the service manual/parts section, should give you that info.

Thanks Rich. I haven't obtained the manual yet so still guessing.

Any know reliable sources for the manuals. Little hesitant on the eBay ones.

DataSync recommended a 25-30 VAC 2 amp from Radio Shack Part No. 273-1512.
Are Radio Shack still in existence?

I'm using a 24v A/C one I bought on eBay there's plenty on offer. Make sure it's a 2 amp one, you should get one for around $20 or less. I think I paid about £15 for mine.
As I mentioned before the lamps are 6V.
There's a list of manual suppliers somewhere on this board.

They will have the authentic ones.

According to the link that's been sold.

If you're going to use the wall box as a "stand alone" unit with the internal speakers (which may need replacing), you'll need one that would fit inside the box as well as the iPod. The usual way is to get the two items in where the coin box would normally fit

If you are going to use it as I use my 507 boxes then you won't be restricted to size. Be careful when you order an adapter, some convert mains A/C voltage to 24v DC. This won't work on the wall box. It has to be 24v A/C

Ok. Got the transformer and think I set it up correct (see pic). Transformer is taking power on primary side, and putting out power on secondary side. I attached one of the yellow to far left contact, and second to ground. Nothing happened. But then again I have no light bulbs. Hoping its still a goer. Without lights to verify powered, should pushing the selector do something?

Thanks very much.

1. Cut and insulate that black wire !
2.Check voltage on the two yellow wires--should be 25-30 VAC un-connected
3. If voltage is correct, check the Service Manual for the correct terminals to connect the source to--
4. If connected properly, establish credit ( remember--this machine like all "jukebox products" was designed to MAKE money !
5. You should no be able to "make selections" if your wall-box is operating correctly.

All you need to know, as I said, is on DataSync's website.

Download this PDF

http://www.cdadapter.com/download/wipod.pdf

The terminals from left to right are.

(1) 25v a/c ....(2) Signal line..... (3) Lock Out Relay.....(4) Audio Control Relay.....(5) Left Speaker....(6) .Audio Ground...(7) Right Speaker.

Below these

(8) Common (earth to chassis)

When you hook up the adapter, the connections are; Signal line and Common.

Ok, thanks everyone. Got it hooked up correctly I believe as per the instructions. Seems to be putting out the expected volt range (27.4) (see pic). Nothing obvious is happening but I have no bulbs. Would bulbs lighting be all I would expect with no main juke to feed it data? Bulbs ordered.

The bulbs I think are off a feed from the supply, 4, X 6v in series. They should have no affect on the mechanical function if they are missing.

You should be able to make a selection if you've now got power whether the bulbs work or not, if there's any credits on it.
Try a coin.

Hi
Just clock up a few credits using the coin mech or the paddles below it and try a selection, although you wont know if its making the right selection until you have it hooked up with an ipod set up or a jukebox

Yes, that's the best idea as I said earlier. No point in buying the adapter until you can get the mechanics to work. You can hear and actually see the mechanism revolve after making a selection.
