Quick tube question

by Raven65 » Sun Jun 26, 2011 10:19 pm

Hi guys,

Could a 12AT7/ecc81 tube, be used instead
Of a 12AU7/ecc82? This is what my rockola 414
Had inside. Any difference in sound quality?

Thanks, Raven

The 12AU7/ecc82 is the one that has the metal
Tube shield.

Simply speaking, a 12AU7 is somewhat less "sensitive" than a 12AT7.
In most preamp circuits, they are interchangable.
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.
