Connecting a Wallbox to my Wurlitzer 1100

Hi All,
I am hoping someone can provide me with some guidance.
I have just purchased a Wurlitzer 3031 wallbox and 219 stepper.
I am connecting these to my Wurlitzer 1100.
I intend to use the 3-wire system to connect them.
My manual does not provide how I connect the 3-wire system.
As I cannot determine how the wires connect, I assume that wallbox wire connections #25, #27 and #28 (there is no #26) connect to #1, #2 and #3 on the stepper.
Can anyone tell me if I am correct?
I did manage to get one selection to play before blowing several fuses. If I have the connections correct, I can keep troubleshooting elsewhere.

Hi Gordo,
To be honest, I did not know a stepper was used with any phono that had less then 100 selections. My guess would be that you can find the common ground (earth) with your meter on both the jukebox and wall box and connect the grounds. At that point power up the juke and search for the "hot 25 VAC" terminal. Without power on in the wall box, see if you can determine which terminal is signal if so, you should now be able to connect it properly-- Ron Rich

Gordon, something does not compute here, the 3031 is a 30 wire box which uses a terminal breakout box --not stepper, in the juke. http://www.jukebox-world.de/Forum/Archi ... er3031.htm

The 3020 is a three wire box. If that is what you have, take a look at the PDF from cdadapter: http://www.cdadapter.com/download/wipod.pdf Scroll to Pg 10...and watch out for the 120 v connections ( how the hell did they get away with that!).

Ron, both Wurlitzer and Seeburg used steppers for their wireless systems in the 20-24 sel era. AMI used a goofy stepper setup in their 40 sel machines into the early 1950's. Rockola had some 50 sel models and -i guess- a stepper was available there too.

Unfortunately I may have been deceived.
The US seller sold me both the stepper and wallbox and it looks like I really required the 218 terminal box with the 3031 wallbox.

On the link you provided Rob, is says (in the note) that a 219 stepper may be installed for the 2 or 3 wire installation. It is not too clear.

I wonder what the 218 terminal box does in the system. It appears that it may plug into the Junction box (which has a vacant plug marked 'Stepper'). It may just connect the 30 wires from the wallbox to the junction box in the jukebox.

I will keep trying and keep you informed.
