Help with a 45

by Larry » Sat Nov 18, 2006 3:53 am

Does anyone know if the song by the J Geils band "must of got lost" the live version with the introduction exists on a 45?

I know the studio version exists but my 3 year old son loves the live version and I would like to acquire it for my jukebox

If anyone knows if this song exists on 45 please let me know.

Thanks

Larry

of vinyl in that storage room.

Alternate versions of the same song are usually not available on 45, for two reasons:

1. Airplay and jukebox releases were the major reasons the 45 version was made. This usually happened before live concerts of the song happened.

2. Too often the live version exceeded the 8-minute time constraint of a 45.

I do have one jukebox live release (Doobie Brothers), but they put it on a 7'' 33 (it was too long for a 45). The jukebox also charged 50 cents instead of a quarter (1970s) for playing the demi-album.

i was in indiana once, near south bend-- near a time zone "line"

folks on one side of the time zone changed their clocks while other
areas did not-- for DST, plus the difference of the time zone!

that was the most idiotic thing i've ever seen in my darn near fifty years of life--

I'm in Indiana. We started time changes this year, and I think the whole idea of changing time twice a year is idiotic.

When you add in home and car air conditioning (which the "experts" never test, because they aren't used around the date of the time change), advancing the clocks in summer WASTES energy.

Daylight-saving time belongs in the garbage can. The only people it helps are people (such as Congressmen) who want to golf after work. The rest of us have to pay higher electric and gasoline bills.

Is the version you are talking about on "Live- Blow Your Face Out" from '76? At any rate, I checked two well-respected guides, and... nope! The only 45 of that song was the 1974 studio version. Yeah, I've got lots of live 45's! I have over 8,000 45's, and, trust me, there's lots of 'em in there!
