1947 Rockola 1422 - lost amplification

by smalltownguy2 » Thu Jul 10, 2014 5:17 pm

I'm working on a 1947 Rockola Series F model 1422 Jukebox serial number 87109. The jukebox was purchased in working condition, then it was transported via truck to a new business. Now there is no amplification. You can hear the music, but it's not amplified.

Where are the usual suspects that I should start with first?

Usually, when transported without proper procedures being followed, something like this is caused by something stupid--like a missing needle, or one of the plugs being pulled out, or a tube being "half out"-- Are ALL of the tubes "lighting"? At other times, depending on how it was handled, there can be MAJOR damages anywhere in the phono-- Ron Rich

None of the tubes light up.

Well, therein lies the problem--is the amp "plugged in" ? Has it blown it's (proper sized) fuse ? If the fuse is blown, you will need to determine why, BEFORE, replacing it ! (or risk very expensive damage ---)
