Oh Ronnie...
I know you're as ancient as Beelzebub the devil.
And just as pretty.
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.

Here is where i am know. I stretched the springs to give me zero either way . Another words with the tonearm in the vertical position the spring had a little slack. I then bent the arm on each one just a bit. Finely got the pressure down to 3 and 4 grams. Tried some records and it sounded like total crap. Especially the B side ( 3 G ). I found out if i take my finger and just apply a little pressure it sounded great. I then said to myself this is getting real stupid and did it my way. I used a very sensitive device and the only thing on me that still works fine ( My Ears ). While the record was playing I bent the the connecting arm away to apply a little more pressure and BINGO it worked. Both A and B side sound very good. Maybe a little to much bass but that might be another problem. Have not checked how much pressure is being applied know but i really don,t care. I can see that the needle is not being smashed down. I will check the pressure one more time just for the heck of it but like i said it really doesn,t matter. Only thing i can think of is that fancy measuring tool i have is not reading correct. The company where my son in law uses it for checking pressure when applying the gas, brake pedal . Maybe it is me being cheap and maybe i should have just bought that tool sold by Neusel but it just bothered me to spend $50 plus for something i would only use once. BTW this guy juke46 (David ) is the guy that saved me when i lost one of those contact washers.

Know i am into the florescent lighting on this jukebox. I replaced both the ballast and starters for the front lights. They are working nice and bright know. The problem i am having is the rotating color cylinders. The motors run fine (looks like they have been replaced) . The problem is the cylinders will turn for awhile and stop but the motor is still turning. Is there a part missing here or what? Just seem weird that they would just flop around on the tube. I have one on my bench at this time. Real fun getting it out as someone screwed the bottom into the cabinet and they made a bracket to hold the top in and i have not gotten to the one behind the coin receiver . I did look in the manual as far as replacing the bulbs and i seen something about a pressing down on a spring. There are no springs anyplace. This is what make me suspicious that something might be missing.

Hi Stan,

Well i think this is something someone made up. I looked in all 4 manual that i have. They do not show any real parts description but do show a motor with a chain. I do have a motor but it it is not like that and i do not have a chain. Grabbing at straws here, Would it be possible that a different model used something like i have? I do see a set of these colored light sticks for sale on ebay but then i also see the metal parts for the ends and these do not even look like what i have. Looking like i am going to have to see if i can make them work. Damn i was hoping to have this done in time for Christmas. Looks like the grand kids are going to be disappointed

Stan, what you have is a packaged retrofit. The lampholders (tombstones) are new design that wasn't available back then.

If the color cylinders are stopping it is essential to determines whether they or the motor are actually stopped.
The ends of a fluorescent lamps are where the heaters (cathodes) are and the heat from those can deform a plastic sleeve causing it to jam

When they stop, crain your neck and see if the motor is still turning and how free the cylinders are. There seems to be a bit of gel sleeve that is fixed. Check that it isn't binding against either the motor pulley or cylinder.

Rob

P.S. Don't worry about the kids. They'll pay it about 5 minutes attention...and then back to their screens.

Rob, Have both the units on my bench. Like i said a real PITA to get them out. In fact my neighbor came by and got the two other screws out ( behind the coin changer and at the bottom). This old man can,t do that stuff anymore. The motors do keep turning. It is the cylinders that jam. Very sloppy fit between the tube and the metal ring. Thinking of making a hard rubber gasket to keep the tube in position better. Not to tight but just right. This will also give the O ring a rubber contact not metal. Also going to make it so if these ever have to come out again it will require taking one bolt out. Thank for letting me know that they are a retrofit. To bad the other guy had no idea how to fit a retrofit.
Stan
PS What you say about the grand kids is true of my grand daughter but not of the grand son. He has helped me on this box and think it is one of the coolest things ever. He even has been taking pictures of it and sending them to his friends

Sorry about not getting back to you guys sooner. The Seeburg is alive and playing fine. Below is what i posted back in December in the clubhouse at ARF.

Just wanted to post this in the clubhouse as i am one happy dude. I purchased this jukebox back in August and it was working. Of course i had to make it better. If you care to see my posting over in the phonograph section ( Seeburh M 100c more problems ) . This thing was going to send me to the crazy farm. Seemed like i would get one problem fixed and something else would pop up. I really would lay in bed at night thinking about it. Anyway i just wanted to post this part of my other post. Bottom line is that if you keep at it be it a radio , TV or jukebox you can bring it back to life. It has been 3 days and i am still " Tickled Pink "

I really wanted to get this bad boy up and running for Christmas eve. As the family was coming over and i had a special surprise for the wife. So in the morning i tried it again. I worked fine but the sound quality was still poor. I then reinstalled my original needles and BINGO it sounds great. To make a long story short i had my kids and grand kids go and get grandma. Had here sit down and then gave my grand daughter a quarter . Then i had her push A1.
It played the song " Tell Me Why" by the Belmonts. This was are song when we were dating. I had bought this record off of ebay when i first got this jukebox and it was one of the really big things i wanted to do. Needless to say it made the wife really really happy. I was a little worried she might start crying. On top of all that the jukebox ran perfect all night. Made for a perfect night for me in fact i was talking to my son in law and i told him i was just tickled pink tonight and he said i really do look happy. So there must be a God that watches over us tube guys

It is now February and it is still playing fine. Have to add i never could get it to sound good with those expensive needles i bought. At least i was able to get my money back. So it still has the original needle it came with. Again i want to say a big THANK YOU for all the help you guys gave me

I was wondering how this was going.
Glad to hear that you got everything working, Stan.
