Couple of things I've noticed.
1. Ron is correct that the gears, in the grabber motor, are nylon. I couldn't tell , initially, due to the grease.
2. The piston, on the grabber arm, that holds the record does not seem to be releasing at either the platter or the magazine. I need to figure out what is going on there.
3. The magazine motor with switch on, and run under power, if the cam, on the magazine, is rotated out of the trap on operate mode. It will stop once the cam falls back into the trap. It will not run while on scan mode, for some reason.

Can someone explain to me how the inner grabber works?
My grabber moves when you manually manipulate it, but does not seem to move as a function of the gears.
This is how it always looks on platter Image
and over the magazine

OK--remember that old saying--"a picture is worth a thousand words"--- well, I see your problem--
You are missing part of the gripper assembly. Check out your parts book, or look at the RockOla lubrication guide posted here somewhere, and you will see that you are missing at least one, if not two gears--

I saw a video of a rock-ola assembly where it appears that the turntable moves towards the gripper and this activates the inner gripper. I don't think this applies to my jukebox. I have a parts diagram, for this juke, and I didn't see any missing gears (but I will check again and perhaps scan). I had the same thought originally, but perhaps I am totally wrong. Will check.

Ron, you are right again. My assembly is missing the top outer gear. I owe you a case of beer

Hey--You know what ? Please send that case of beer ( or better yet, the money it would cost for it, and shipping) to the Wounded Warriors Project. ( support@wwp.org --I think). Thanks ! Ron Rich
P.S. The video you saw where the TT "moves to the record" is of a late 45 RPM, WurliTzer--All RO's are the same as yours--
