Sonora repair help - Crank came loose

by jefflord » Tue Dec 31, 2013 1:40 am

Hi,
The set screw came out where the crank attaches to the motor.
I got it apart, but cannot figure out how to reassemble. If I leave the motor on the board I can't reattach the crank with the horn in place.
If I remove the motor from the board, and work from the top, I can't get the motor back on the board.
What am I missing???
Any help greatly appreciated. My 2 year old granddaughter loves to play 78s on it
photos attached
Thanks so much,
Jeff

That's a puzzler. The horn should go in first and it should be secured in place. Then the motor-board with the motor attached to it should clear the horn, at least by a few inches. That's the way it would have been installed at the factory. Maybe it's simply a matter of repositioning the horn, jiggling it this way and that until it's in the proper position.

Thanks for the reply Joe. If I put the horn in first and then leave the motor on the board it does clear but then I can't get to the set screw to attach the crank to the motor!!
I'm stumped. I'm almost ready to try some epoxy on the end of the crank and stick it through the hole and see if I can just glue the crank in place!
