What about Thank You???

by john46 » Mon Mar 17, 2008 4:53 pm

I´ve been here for some time. And I´ve found a lot of people trying to help me, spending a lot of time, researching, helping, finding out extraordinary relations.
I think, it´s overdue, to thank you for the help, generosity and energy to forward a platform to help us without commercial background.

Hi John

I agree with you entirely. I would like to join you in saying thank you to those who have helped me over the years.

It seems there are quite a lot of people who "drop by" and ask questions relating to value / provenance of machines etc and then disappear to sell their items for profit without even a "Thank You". I've been on here for about 5 years now and always give out information when I can help which of course is not all the time! I know there are also a number of other "regular members" who will do the same and we don't ask / expect a lot as we are all learning ourselves and enjoy the information sharing - as hobbyists, it helps all of us collectively to share this information.

But I do feel sometimes that we are simply doing no more than giving people with no interest in the subject, a platform on which they will use this information against us to sell their machines on Ebay and the like!

Talk about "shooting oneself in the foot"!

Anyway, let's liven this board up a bit. Come on folks, show us all something new you've just acquired!

Steve
