help identifying this Emerson phonograph?

by skymoose » Tue May 28, 2013 4:03 am

Hello,
We have recently found and inherited this Emerson 860 Series B tube phonograph. Assuming it works (we have not yet had a chance to dig out any old records and try it out), can anybody suggest what it would be worth if anything? Thank you for any advice. Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
Welcome !
I know nothing about this phono--but since you asked for advice, I'll give you mine--
Electric items such as this are prone to having "problems" from long time non-use.
Unless you, or someone you know, is familiar with the proper "start-up" procedures, I would suggest you not "try it out". Ron Rich

As-is, it's a time bomb waiting to blow..
Once restored, it might be worth a couple of bucks.
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.
