I have a Farnsworth-Capehart radio/record player console which has a P72 Gravity Record Changer in it. Mine has the chrome tonearm with the lucite cartridge head with a GE VR cartridge installed. On the centerpost that holds the records up, i suspect at one time there was some kind of o-ring on it so only one record would drop at a time. Obviously mine is missing and was wondering what do you replace it with and where would i locate a replacement? For those of you that might not be familiar with this changer, the record drop is totally controlled by the centerpost as it doesnt use a nodder, pusher or rotating knives or anything that contacts the outer edge of the record in helping the record to drop. It also doesnt use a stabilizer arm to hold the records in place either. Record-changers turntable website has a picture of one of these in the post war section thats identical to mine except for the tonearm is the bigger gold metal one instead of chrome and lucite like mine. Any information about this would gladly be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony
