rockola 496 - turntable seized

The record keeps playing on the turntable. The turntable won't "reject" the record when it is done playing. Nothing happens when I press the cancel button. If i send a picture of the turntable, can someone help me with this? thanks

Your post is confusing to me. If the turntable is "siezed", it means that the turntable is not turning?
If you (or a friend), do not have the skills needed to be able to read the manual, and follow the "sequence" of events, and/ or the schematic, I'm afraid that you will need to pay someone with those skills, to repair your phonograph. To do anthing else, in my opinion, would run the risk of more costly damage to your machine.

I think I know what he's trying to say, my 496 does the same thing. It's not siezed, it keeps playing after the song is done. I can't figure out mine either. The tone arm is making contact with the switch when the record is done playing. The relay under the turntable clicks once, but nothing happens. Also, it kills the amp/sound once it clicks, as in if you lifted the arm and put it on the song, it won't come out the speakers. But, kill the power, restart, and then the sound comes on again, till the record finishes, the relay clicks again, and then nothing. I replaced the relay (bigger one) that clicks, same thing. Any help from anyone? I know the sequence would be when the arm makes contact it spins the motor to que the arm back over, pick the record up, etc. Any help will help!!!

Is the gripper motor getting power? Has the gripper/gripper motor been oiled latley ? Has the CB tripped? Ron

Hey, I just corrected my problem with the 496 stuck at the end of the record. I took the wide plug off the board underneath the turntable. I straightened out the plug and gently massaged the wires straight, then swung the plug around, plugged it back in and it's been working great. I think from the plug end having to be bent on a hairpin curve may be stretching some wires, obviously have a short somewhere. It it's not the wiring, as in my case, I would conclude it would have to be in the board that the plug goes into where the 2 relays go. I can't find any manuals for my box, so I guess countless hours is the next best thing. So far, so good! Thnx
