Question on seeburg (a)y100

My questions are as follows. Sense I'm waiting for a pro to agree to come look at my jukebox , sense I seem to be at the extremes of everyone's travel area. Whats best to us clean the switches. An electronics tech suggested crc contact cleaner and a exposed switch cleaning tool ( said he hadn't used it in 25 years so had to find it if I wanted to borrow it.)
Next question is there a recommended place to send my amp to be redone channel one is dead and the manual says replace amp after doing the tests.

I've used a matchbook pretty successfully.

Have you tested the tubes yet? Made sure they are the right tubes in the right sockets and properly seated? There are a number of guys that can rebuild amps. Matt Tech, who is a member here, does fine work and I believe he does amps, he's also in Philly so not that far from you. If you check with Always Jukin' or google jukebox repairs you will find many others.

Welcome !
I use a plastic safe-safety solvent to clean switches-- saturate a piece of "heavy bond paper" with the cleaner, and run it through the switches till the 'black stuff" no longer shows up-- However, IMHO, it is not necessary to do this unless the switch point has become contaminated---a "little dirt, don't hurt"
I have a question for you---what's an "exposed blade switch cleaning tool" ?
On the amp--you did not mention the model number--but you should be able to switch tubes from one channel to the other, for a test. Also, remove the mute plug, and see if the bad channel comes back on---If you do have a dead channel--leave the 6973 tubes out, on the dead side !

Hello Eugene,

I use paper just pulled through the open contacts of a switch/relay.
The tool I think you are talking about is some form of burnisher.
Any abrasive paper or tool will damage the tips of the contacts.

All tubes have been checked per the manual so they seem to be good, did the switch tube from channel 2 to 1 etc etc. what kind of tool was it not sure myself but thats his name for it prob some slang term.
The amp is a shfa3 amp with a avcu10. no tubes in the avc10 sockets.
