NSM Carriage wony stop moving and wont play full record.

by Boh6368 » Thu Mar 19, 2015 6:00 pm

Hi I am looking for an NSM City 2 working carriage or a working carriage board. Or any advice on My Carriage and why its not stopping. The carriage keeps going back and forth non stop. I ccan make selections and it will select the correct record and start to play it then reject it and start moving again non stop until i make another selection. I did oil the mech according to the specs and checked that both micro switches are working on the mech, With both switches working it makes no sense to me why the carriage wont stop scanning, Any help would be appreciated..

Thanks Lenard

Hi
Might be a problem with the scan relay FA, although the usual problem would be that the carriage won't scan, the relay is located on the control centre

Clone, Thanks for the reply:

I took the board off of the mech and found a melted Power Transistor BC327 -16, Now I need to find this one and hope it fixes the issue. I would rather locate another board for the mech if anyone knows where to get one please let me know.

Thanks Lenard

There's a reason WHY the trasistor failed - replacing it doesn't cure the problem.
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.

Well I got the board back from George Sammons and only cost 94$ to get it fixed and working. :D it was missing some capacitors and resistors and some were bad. But he did a great job. And the board works perfect now.

Thanks George
