Starting to regret obtaining a NSM

by nagamitsu » Tue Mar 18, 2014 1:33 am

Holy cow, if I had known finding a cartridge for it would be this difficult, I wouldn't have picked up this NSM.

Thought I'd be able to save it and use it, but looks like I may go back to my original Seeburg grail.

Is it just NSM and this particular cartridge, or am I going to encounter this if I pick up a Seeburg that is missing its cartridge?

Hi
If its a shure M17cm cartridge, it will be hard to find, they are not manufactured anymore. Its possible you could modify a seeburg cartridge to suit. Those NSM machines can be difficult to work on,i find parts hard to get and if they do become available they sell for a high price. If someones looking to sell an nsm machine cheap theres usually something major wrong although its the luck of the draw. If it were me i would part out the machine you will probably get your money back along with more

Thank you. Worst case, I'll part it out. I am hoping to get it fully functional and use it though. I may have to make a decision at some point.

The jukebox that I'd like to get at some point is a Seeburg Quadraphonic

Darrell, and all,
PLEASE--if you have info such as this, post it above in the "sticky" (informational)( --"where to find---") section, so it's there "forever" !
Thanks,
Ron Rich

I do have a m17cm cartridge ! But I think I had promised it to clones back in Aug and had totally forgot about it ,since I don't get on here very often ! If Clones still needs it & wants it he has 1st choice if not ds100h is next ! Sorry Clones just haven't been on here ! I tried this cartridge on a Pioneer amp and touched it to a turntable and it sounds great ! Problem is one needle broke and the as been bent a little ,so it will have to have new needles ! I did look and John At needles4jukeboxes.com has them !

Ryan

Thanks for the thought, but, I am not in need of that item. Hope it helps Clones or whoever needs it.

Well, go figure, as several came up on Jukebox Revival, where I ordered one from, I have someone local to me who answered an ad I posted and offered one as well for half of what I paid for the other.

So as much as I could use as a spare, I have to wait til dust settles here after these expenses or the wife will kill me.
