rockola 496-2 plays same record

When selection is over, it will put record back and select it again and play it again. If I clear selections on the control unit, it will go to home position as it should. Which switch removes the selection from the control unit?

nobody has an idea? BTW, it will play as many selections as you punch in, it just doesn't remove them from the playlist after playing.

Eddie: I'm not with my 496 right now, so these suggestions are from (my faulty) memory. The S7 button on the S3 Control Unit clears selections in memory, and I believe it's the #1 dip switch, open, that dumps selections in queue when the machine is powered off. Try those, and good luck.

Yes, as I said in the first post, it will clear the selections if I press the S7 button. The problem is, that is the only time it will clear them. (and power off) Selection is not removed from the playlist after it is played. For instance, If I select 3 songs, it will play all three, then instead of returning home, it will play them again..and again...and again...

Still looking for an answer. I have cleaned all ribbon cables and connectors. I have replace capacitors on the mech board. I have reflowed the solder joints on the Optic board. It fails tests 1 and two (mechanism tests) before it even gets the record out of the carousel.

Finally found the culprit. It was a bad connection where a wire from the bottom cam switch ( I don't know the switch number) plugs into the mechanism board under the turntable. It was where the wire goes into the plastic connector. I ohmed every cable on this machine and this one was the last one. I reflowed almost every solder joint. Should be good to go now. LOL

Well I read on the interwebs that them ribbon cables are real trouble makers so I started with them. Then I read on the interwebs that them capacitors on that there mechanism board are real trouble maker so I changed them. Then I read on the interwebs that solder joints were a problem. ..etc. etc. I am going to try to put something together on these boxes that actually makes sense.
Dang interwebs.
