Err..

Several, they all look the same, but I can't get close enough to read them because of the angle. They must be part of the system that works the "Scan/Stop/ Play" function. I guess if they are resistors they would get a bit warm, maybe I'm worrying too much?

This is so true.

I've three grandkids, the youngest at three is very bright and "knows all her numbers." I guess I could dangle her by her feet with her head inside the machine and she'd be able to read out the numbers to me. But unfortunately they live 200 miles away.
Anyway, someone else has told me they are resistors, they do get warm and I should stop worrying unnecessarily, but thanks anyway.

Great reason to ring up the parents, and demand to see your granddaughter !!! ( probably are resistors, and nothing to worry about)

Since having the grommets changed there's absolutely no background noise at all, even on the few old records I still have. I've replaced many with others of my own choice in far better condition than those supplied which I accept were just fillers. I've several "new" Motown classics I ordered from the USA.

Having listened to a few similar engineered boxes on YouTube, I count myself fortunate that mine doesn't "sound like a bag of spanners being shaken" as some I've heard do and it always chooses the correct record and the selector doesn't travel a full revolution when choices have been made.

When I get my "new" graphic for the picture I guess I'll be completely happy with the situation.

I haven't forgotten the lubrication chart, it's not arrived as yet, but I'll make it available to anyone who needs it when it does.

This was recorded on my little Panasonic Lumix digital camera which will also film short videos with sound, but doesn't really do the reproduction justice.

I've just put the new graphic in my machine.

The old one was very faded and very "blue"

As you can see, there was probably also about two grand's worth of nicotine on the back of the old graphic and between it and the front protection glass. Smoke gets everywhere, doesn't it? Dirty habit!

It's looking much better now. I think that was five quid well spent for a brand new replacement.
