I know! I have committed sacrilege, but it was this or break it for parts.

A TropiContinental, or as my father used to call some of my mashups: FrankenJuke.

Seriously, it is distinctive and doesn't look bad. have you lit the mech compartment?

Yep the mech compartment is lit with a red glow, the scan switch assembly has a lovely cover on it made from a plastic meat dish, the lid with the dome is made from thick Perspex, heated and bent to shape. the title board compartment on the top is made out of scrap plywood and the top glass and frame from a seeburg showcase. it is curved at the back so I could fit the 10 title card holders in one row, otherwise would have had a very wide juke. To my surprise the wife likes it maybe it might be allowed in the house for a while when it is finished. Already been allowed four in the house one more won't make a lot of difference. Harry.

I have an unmodified Tropicana I'm working on. I've rebuilt the amp and preamp so far. I really like what you've done to yours. I can appreciate the ingenuity and the craftsmanship. Good job! I look forward to any other "Frankenjukes" out there.

Jack

Hi, Jack, thanks for your comments, the juke was in really bad shape, bought it unseen, so I decided to redesign the box, as cheaply as possible, that was after I got everything working as it should, it still has a way to go, Tropicana's sound really good when set up right. but not a juke I will be keeping, It will spend some time in the house, but already have Seeburg 201, AMI k 200, and two Rowe Ami JALS in the house, I have an understanding wife. will pm you photo when it is finished. Well it's finished, apart from, the job I hate, typing out another 90 title cards. somebody out there might like it in their games room.
until then it's coming in the house. ps, the dam thing decided to stop selecting anything with the number two. hairline crack on the track for number two on search unit board, solder is a wonderful thing. Decided to remove the valve amps cos they are to good to be left in a frankenjuke, fitted a Teac ah 300 instead so it has turned into a music centre  connect Ipod cd player etc. and of course vinyl
