Brunswick Cloth Color

Does anyone know the correct material color for the tone hole cover on a 1918 Brunswick ultona console. I have seen some red ones but not sure if that is original. My cloth was there but faded, now a brown/copper color.

Hi John:

Sometimes, the only way to tell what the original color was like is to check around the edges of the cloth, where it is mounted to the grille, since that area was not exposed to light.

I'm not sure if Brunswick glued the cloth to the frame or if it is held in place by thin slats tucked into a groove around the edge of the frame. Either way, if you can lift up a corner, that should give you a clue.
