Mystery machine

Hi Everybody,

I have a great stereo console, but I'm not sure who made it, thus making it more difficult for parts, etc. Maybe somebody out there can help me.

It's a monster console - more than seven feet long - and has a gold velvet "curtain" running along the front. The turntable is a Garrard 2025TC, and the radio is a Morse. On the back of the stereo is a model number (G93-800) and a serial number (p 192507). Other than that, there are no brand marks anywhere.

So if anyone can help me ID this thing and maybe a rough idea of when it was made, I'd sure appreciate it.

Thanks a lot,
Ken

I'm not sure about the USA, but over here, the name on the radio is always the brand of the unit.

Thanks, Shane. I was thinking that, too, but I've never heard of Morse as a producer of stereo consoles - I've always associated the brand with radios. Considering the monsterous proportions of this unti, I was expecting to see a Magnavox, RCA or Zenith tag on it somewhere. Thanks for the input!

I have a Morse consolette and I see them pop up on ebay every now & then.
Vinyl is disease which attacks that area of the brain desiring digital recordings. Once you catch it, you are cured.

Its probably a Morse Electrophonic. They made table top and console stereo's.
