Seeburg AY-100

I have a problem with my AY-100 that is driving me nuts. You can select records and it will play them until it "warms"up. This means that in warm weather after about two or three selections, it will just scan twice and stop. If you make another selection, it will do the same thing. It's in a heated garage but now that it's winter, it's cooler in there so it may play 5-7 songs before it does the same thing. Shut it off for an hour or so and it will start the procedure all over again. All the electrolytics and the paper caps in the control center have been replaced including the tormat plug in module. The tormat tube has been replaced. It seems to be related to this because if you change out the tube, it will be like you first turned on the machine again. I have not checked or changed any resistors. Any ideas? Much thanks in advance.

I think you have "put your finger" on the problem--some resistor, somewhere, is changing value.
Most often it's the 56K two watt, but almost any one (OR MORE), can be at fault. If you wish, use the "battery trick", to see if it's in the WI or RO section--
Also, did you change the .05 in the TP-1--and check those resistors ?

Thanks Ron. Kinda thought so just wanted to be pointed in the right direction. Yes, I did change that cap. No, I haven't checked any resistors but that's the next step.

Although this is an old thread, I thought I'd update it as I fixed this problem quite a while ago and it's been working fine ever since.

Ron, it was the .05 in the TP-1. The original one I replaced it with was bad. Don't forget guys to pull that tormat module off the control center when recapping and change that cap out and remember that different caps are not always good. The cap was a newer "cut out" that I had saved. Sometimes it doesn't pay to be too cheap. I thought I had tested it but who knows?
