Opinions on Wurlitzer Carnegie CD juke

by jukinbill » Thu Jul 11, 2013 3:56 pm

I have the opportunity to purchase a Wurlitzer Carnegie CD jukebox (from 1988-91) at a very good price (to me anyway). I have only become familiar with record-playing jukes, so this would be my first CD juke. The owner tells me that he can't get it to select tunes from the selector buttons, but the CD player will play them manually if he loads the record. Until I get a manual and read up on this machine, I can't tell what I'm getting into. Otherwise, he said that it sounds great and I've seen pictures of it and it is VERY clean, inside and out.

Would like to know anyone's opinion of this machine. Any opinions?

Hi
If it was me i would stay clear, chances are there may be something simple wrong with it, but that's usually the sales pitch. It could be the selection and control unit which is at fault or the microswitches , but if its for a good price might be worth an investment, even if you had to sell it for parts at a later stage. The laser unit in it is probably the most valuable part
