Any reason not to use a modern amplifier in a Rowe CD-100a

by ransome » Fri Jan 16, 2015 11:06 am

I have a replica Ami Continental that I want to convert to a CD jukebox. In the replica I am using a modern amp with a phono input going through the crossover and to the speakers.
The CD-100a has an rca output that I connected to a home theater system and it sounds great. I am just wondering if I am missing anything by not using the crossover to the speakers. Am I getting all the sound.

Thanks Gregg

IMHO, the only reason for a "cross-over" is to prevent the base from blowing out the the small "hi" speakers ??

Bass, Ronnie baby, Bass..... not "base".
It's "All about that Bass" :)

Hi Matt,
Well my thumb slipped--"S" and "E" are too close together--and since "base" is a "good word", my spell checker did not underline it--
That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it !!!
