Rowe R-94 sound issues

Brand new to jukboxes and just received this unit yesterday. Been lurking around here trying to find out as much as I can.

Didn't include the field service manual so I've got one of those ordered and on the way. In the meantime, I have noticed that sound is only coming from the left speakers. I looked around inside and didn't see any obivious signs like cables unplugged etc..The jukebox defintely got bounced around in shipping, there were records on the bottom and the CCC was hanging askew. It's probably related but the volume doesn't get very loud either.

I'd appreciate any advice on where to start trying to pinpoint what the cause could be.

Also, keys were not inlcuded for the working bill acceptor and cash door. Am I going to have to drill the locks and replace them or is there some trick I am missing?

1st, follow the red and black VC wires to the terminal strip. There should be a "link" there--that says something like "dual" /" single". Be sure it's set (and the screws are tight ) on "single" (Jumpers the red wire to two terminals).
Then check on how the internal speakers are wired. A black colored wire should be on either terminal marked "E-1". One colored wire should be on ONE terminal marked "E-7"*. The other colored wire should be on the OTHER terminal marked "E-7"*. NO other wires should be connected to either of these terminal strips !
If at this time you still are missing one channel, swap the two colored wires. If the problem changes sides, you have internal amplifier problems, and I would suggest that you contact a "pro". (yes--I do repair them, if interested contact me at ronnnrich@yahoo.com). If your problem does NOT switch sides, you have internal cabinet wiring, cartridge, or cross-over problems, which will require further trouble shooting.
* MAYBE marked only to "E-6" on that terminal strip--can't re call--if so, use E-6 in place of E-7. Ron Rich

On the locks--if original, they will have a number stamped on them. Any GOOD locksmith can generate a key from that code. Otherwise good luck with the drill ! Ron Rich

I changed the wires from E-2 to E-7 and that definitely helped the low volume but still no sound from the right channel. Swapped the wires and got sound from the right, no sound from the left. I guess that means that the speakers are ok, but the amp isn't? Is it really necessary to pull the amp and send it in or is there something else I might be able to check?

Does anyone carry refurbished or used working amps where I don't have to send my old one in first?

Are you having trouble with 45's and CD's? There are 15 connections between the cartridge and the amp. Check all of them. You should remove the amp and make sure the pre-amp board is seated properly
so there is a good connection to the power driver boards.

Update:
I ended up sending my amp to Ron and he had that puppy repaired and out the very same day he received it! Got it back and the probolem with sound was fixed. I couldn't be happier with Ron's service or his extremely helpful advice! Thanks again!
