Seeburg M100A Stepper Plug Wiring

Hi

Just got my wife a Seeburg M100A that has been modified to play 33 1/3 albums. It is a great looking and sounding unit. I have a plug for connecting the WOM to the receiver. There is a white and a black wire (I beleive 16 gage) and then a blue and a green wire (I believe are 20 gage). I need to replace the wires as they are only about an inch long. It looks like I will be able to get the plug apart. Am I correct that the plug blade that lays horizontal is the pulse blade (blue and green wires)? It then appears that the center plug blade is the hot wire(black) and the final blade is the common(white wire).

Would this be correct and do I need all 4 wires I asume one is a ground?

Hi Darrell,
Pin 1--(the one that's different), is signal (blue on WOM). Pin 2 (center-Orange on WOM) is ground, Pin 3 (green) is hot.
Unless the wire is over 25 feet long, all can be 22 gauge. If longer, or more then one WOM is used, the power and ground should be 16 gauge. Ron Rich

Thank you. Are you an advocate of attaching a ground wire?

The pulse blade (the one that is different) has a blue and a green wire attached. I understand the blue wire goes to the blue on the WOM. Do I need the green wire for anything, such as grounding to chassis or should I just eleimnate the green wire? It seems I read that it is a good idea to prevent false trips?

It's only a 3 wire system--dis-regard the colors you see on the old wires, as "someone" just used "old wire"!

Finished wiring the plug. I am sure you already know this, but, while working with the plug I discovered that Seeburg actually made these pretty much fool proof

The plate that holds the blades is marked with a blue mark by pin 1, an orange mark by pin 2-center pin and a green mark by pin 3, which of course then corresponds to the markings on the terminals in the WOM, just as you explained.

If some "Geppeto" has not changed the way the WOM is supposed to be wired I will have it made!
