R-86 Phonograph

by carter262 » Sat Feb 14, 2015 11:06 pm

Hello I just picked up a R-86 Phonograph today. When I plugged it up the lights came on but nothing else. No LCD display screen, no records turning, nothing. I do have a manual but no experience with jukeboxes. Where do I start trouble shooting?

Any help would be appreciated. Also what is the value of this model working or nonworking?

Thanks

Welcome to the Board Carter262

Sight unseen how could a person put a price on it? $0.00 to $900.00 fully restored is a starting point.

Start by reading the manual.

Hope you get it running.

Best
Darrell

Thanks. I don't have any pictures right now. I was just looking for average going price in decent condition just out of curiosity.

I have started reading, but being new I was hoping for a good starting point to trouble shoot. Hopefully someone has seen this before and can help.

Thanks for the suggestions and welcoming me.

Carter

Good idea to let people know where you are located by filling in your profile.

Check all the fuses for proper size and if they are good.

Hello Carter,

Welcome to the forum,

A Rowe Ami R-86 1982 in the Blue or Gold Magic.
Check to make sure that all of the power rail led's on the power supply unit (4-07706-01) are lit.
Check in your manual for the pinout on the power supply and test the voltages, you are looking for 28 volts AC & DC and 8 volts DC, check for these voltages at the power supplu unit , the service switch and the plug into the lefthand side of the mechanism.
Once you have checked for these voltages you can move forward.

Regards
Alan
