wurlitzer 2810 will not load

by james1953 » Sat Dec 27, 2014 1:11 am

I have corrected the selection problems i had, found keyboard wiring incorrect, and programming plug jumper was open. does select correctly and correct selector pins come up. record holder does spin to search but stops on pin and motor hums , i turn it off to prevent it from burning up. adjusted stop switch as per manual for ry 6 . suggestion ??

James, You gotta 'splain it a little better--does the crank arm hit, and bind on the released lever, does the motor reverse, and fail to lift an arm? Is either arm "binding" in the record rack ? Ron Rich

Didja check the reversing switch--and slip-rings/wires going to it ? If so, reversing relay ?
Which type of "lift arm tips" is this phono equipped wit--the"stationary" type or the "mobile type" (aka "duck bills") ?

if ry6 is energized by the reversing switch, then the switch is good. it energizes when the switch is made. i did have a problem with the motor plug where two wires came out and i desoldered them. could they be backwards? they are yellow and black, i can't tell from the print...

James,
You "desoldered" them ?? Attza why they don't work ! All kidding aside, I do not have a manual on that model (which on a WurliTzer, usually shows wire colors), but I think you can swap them around to check ? What type/brand plug is used there ?
