Rock-Ola 490 wiring

by ebuturla » Thu Jan 07, 2016 5:56 pm

I have a Rock-Ola 490-1 and the unit keeps blowing a transistor in the power distribution assembly. I thought there might be a short in the wiring so I was checking all the output blocks of the power distribution assembly so I could look downstream for a short. I noticed a problem in the 15 pin Red Molex that feeds the mech-cpu-power cable 54906-A On the power supply side, a brown-white wire comes into pin 6 but on the output side, there is no brown-white wire going downstream. There does not appear to be a brown-white wire loose in the unit. If you have a 490, please check your unit to see if your Red Molex has a brown-white line on the distribution and if so, where does it go to.
Thanks,
Ed

It goes to a connector on the CPU. Looking at it from the front of the box, it is the connector to the right beside the big white one. It is the first wire to the right beside the little plastic thing that keeps you from plugging the connector in backwards. 9th position over starting at right end of connector.
