HOW TO POST A NEW MESSAGE (Create a message thread)

While this is pretty basic information, I've posted this for newbies to Phonoland who may not be familiar with the layout of this type of message board.

1) Click on the forum you want to post in -- Collector's Lounge, For Sale, etc...

2) Scroll down toward the bottom of the page, and click on the "New Topic" button.

3) In the box next to "Subject" type a title or slug for your message.

4) In the large white box, type your message.

5) Click on the "Preview" button to see what you message will look like

--OR--

6) Click on the "Submit" button, and your new message should be displayed at the top of the list. (You may have to refresh your screen, depending on your browser's security settings .)

A couple of additions to Joe's post--
1. "Sign" your name to your post ! ( I know--the forum gives you a "By-line" but sometimes it is hard to write "Hi XMT27"--just seems to "impersonal" to me)
2. Post your "location" in the "profile" section ( this forum is world wide, and sometimes a local "something" is needed).

I totally agree with your comments and Ron as you say it is always better to reply to a named person.
