Ok, thanks, I've never seen a "hcd-1". Having worked on many RoweAMiCD's, however, I would guess that the hideaway is similar to the full sized cabinets.
If the original reason that you replaced the amp was "no sound", and the replacement is the same, I would think that the amp was/is not the problem. The most common reason for that problem is an open volume control wire. Check the "Transformer Audio Package". There should be a termial strip on it that says "volume control". If you are using a "remote" VC, the wires should be hooked to the "Common" and "Stereo" screws. There also should be an UN-hooked pair of wires--one red & one black--just "laying around". If so, remove any wires from theose screws, and connect the un used pair--red to Stereo, and black to common. Then find the local volume control on that cabinet ( it should be on the other end of the two wires), and see if you now have audio.
Check the amp, to make sure that you have pluged the "volume control" into the correct jack, and check that the "mute" & "speaker" plugs are attached. Also, be sure the AC cord for the amp is in, and "making" good contact. Hope that helps--let me know-- Ron Rich
