Wurlitzer 3600/7500 selector problem

Wurlitzer Cabaret (7500) - same as the 3600 model. Have only had this machine for a couple of weeks and it was very dirty inside when I got it. I have cleaned up the innards pretty well. The coin mech and free play credits work, it gives credits, but............

First of all, I do have a service manual, but these German written manuals are piss-poor at describing what to look for and do when you have issues. Anyway, after making a selection, the buttons stay down for about 15 seconds and then pop back up, the mech does not scan, just sits there. The counter does not advance a selection. I am able to manually select records to play by pushing one of the selection pins on the pindeck up, but the machine won't do this on its own. The selections aren't getting energized in the pindeck to cause them to push the pins up. Everything after that point works fine, as long as I manually start the process. There is just the issue between the selector buttons and the mech actually rotating and making selections. The manual scan lever does make the mech rotate a couple of revolutions, then it stops.

So, do I simply have a dirt problem here or could switch(es) be bad (or both)? Any help on this subject is appreciated.

"--German written" manual ?? I do not have the 3500, but I do have the 34, and 36, written in English--but admittedly, a little difficult to understand--
If my memory serves me, it sounds like the motor ( and/or gear drive) for the arm that revolves around and pulls pins, is bound up--
This is pretty typical, and can be fixed by simply removing the assembly, cleaning and using a few drops of 20 wt. ND oil.
Be sure to fill "oil wicks' on that (and all) AC motors. HTH Ron Rich

Thanks Ron. I think what I was trying to say is that it was drafted by the German folks, then distributed in three languages (English/German/French). Their interpretations of things are very vague and misguided. They like to relate specific parts with part numbers that don't show on any diagram or schematic.

Thanks for pointing me toward the drive motor/gears. The manual also has no diagram for oiling certain parts, so I'll get to this as well. I did oil around some of the gears.

Fixed the problem. Pulled all of the molex connectors apart and the connections to the control box and cleaned them good and that did the trick. I figured it was dirt that was messing things up. It's ALWAYS DIRT, dadgumit.

Thanks for posting that--I have seen very few Molex connectors causing problems--Many A-MP connectors are problematic--
