Condition of old wiring

I have a question about the wiring on a rockola
1426. All the original wiring is there in it's
Original condition. It doesn't seem brittle or
Anything. Is this safe to use as is? Are there places
That make complete replacement wiring looms?
I do plan on replacing original power cord.

Raven,
In most cases it's just fine--I don't think anyone is going to make a new wire loom for something like that--no demand--
NOT the story if it was an AMi, as the "rip cord" used in them for hi voltage is famous for being dangerous ! Ron Rich

Hi, I also have a Rockola 1426 and recently had to replace the wiring to the lights as it had gone brittle over the years. I would have a good look at yours to make sure its safe. If in doubt I would take the time to replace it.

Hello Raven,

The usual rule of thumb is if its not broken why fix it. After saying that check any of the mains 240 or 110 volt wiring that comes in contact with any heat source such as chokes/ballasts and lamp end caps. As Ron says Rowe Ami and other jukebox manufacturers used some poor wiring in the late 60's and 70's.
