AMI S120 hideaway sits and spins

by Uptown » Tue Sep 29, 2015 12:37 am

I've been slowly working on this early 1950's hideaway unit and reached a point where I could actually plug it in.
It powered it up and the turntable began to turn and the mech doesn't move.
The gripper arm is over the record carriage. I've tried pushing and switching everything I can find but it makes no difference. I'm familiar with late 50's mechs but it doesn't help. Just wondering if anyone can suggest how to troubleshoot this or at least why the mech doesn't move. Is it possible that the scan motor is seized?
I won't have time to work on it for a few days so I thought it would be a good idea to ask for advice.
Thanks,
Mauro
