connecting a SC-1 Consolette to a Seeburg SS160

by mercury6 » Thu Jan 05, 2012 10:04 pm

Hello everyone,
I just joined the group but I want to thank everyone with the valuable information on the posts especially Ron i have been following them. Now here is my question I am trying to connect SC-1 Consolette to Seeburg SS160. I tried connecting it like the manuals tell you but I was blowing fuses. Now I overlooked the part about the speakers and connecting SC-1. I had the SS-160 speakers wired on 25 amps each side and the one on GN and I was told that the Consolette will draw 2 amps so I taking I should lower my speaker connections to give room for the SC-1. But the question was the last set of screws just say GN and I'm assuming that means ground but that usually is marked GRN I am hoping that this will work. Any help would be appreciated, I have gone over manuals left and right and by the way i just know the bascis on electricity. I am hoping since everything checks out okay that it will work. Thank you for all your time, I really enjoy trying to figure all this out.

What "fuse" is "blowing" ? There should be a terminal on the TSA-5 marked "Consolette" -- It should have three screws--L-
R and G. SC speakers hook up there, ONLY--cabinet speakers may stay on top tap (25 watt), with no problem--lower it if you wish the SC speakers to seem louder in relationship. Ron Rich

Hello Ron,
Thank you for the information i think it was a fuse in the amp that blew but I also had one go out on me on the UPDU5 I believe thats what it was called basically the pricing unit I had one go out there but I do not remember which one it was or both when I connected it my stepper is a SSU2 but I think I am going to pick up a SSU3 and use that one instead. Thanks again all help is appreciated.

The stepper can not blow fuses in the amp, nor the pricing unit--
