Seeburg WSR7-L6 Receiver 2050 Tube

by rvalkenburg » Wed Sep 10, 2014 5:23 am

So tonight going through another blog with photos of someone who had restored a Seeburg hf100r like mine with the same WSR7-L6 receiver I noticed they had a 2050 tube installed, I do not have one. I was wondering what that connection was for, just have not got that far in my troubleshooting process in the jukebox or the manual yet. I probably would have noticed it when my CAP Kit comes for the receiver and Amp.

So my question is, I read through the Seeburg hf100r Service Manual and the Wire Selection Receiver doc and it seems that the 2050 tube on the receiver is only for the external Wall-O-Matics, is that correct? Even if I do not have an external unit, is it best practice to still have the 2050 tube installed? Going through the schematics it seems it assists in the Step Switch & Relay Assembly operations for the WSR7-L6 receiver, so shouldn't the 2050 tube be installed no matter having a Wall-O-Matic or not?

Thank you for any suggestions, advice and input.

The 2050 is for wallboxes only.

I guess my next question would be, if you did not have a Wallbox connected should the 2050 tube be removed? Is there an issue with it being installed without the external unit connected?

There is no use for the 2050 w/o wallboxes, so leave it out.

If the stepper portion of the WSR is not going to be used (a WOM attached) it's best to remove the 2050, AND, the "screw in" fusestat. It takes quite a bit of "skill" to rebuild the stepper, IMHO--- Ron Rich
