Hi Bill,
As has been mentioned--Please read the above "stickies" ( and the "informational posts), before you do anything.
I would advise using 20 wt. ND oil in the following manor:
Remove a record, and select that slot. Stop the motor at the point that the gripper itself, is facing up. Gently. pull up on the "collar" of the gripper arm and saturate it with oil. Push down on the center post ( that would grab the other side of a record) and saturate it with oil, also.
Then saturate in between the two gears on the side of the gripper. Then oil the lower bearings and the "slide" ( where the in enters to decide which side is played), slightly. After that you will undoubtedly need to do as suggested above by clones--However, when he says not to hold too hard, I think I have a better way to say it--Just use one finger on the tip of the gripper arm--allow it to pull the gripper out from under your finger--this may need to be done 100 times, before the oil "works in"--do it on both sides of the records. Re-oil it as above after 50 or so operations. Have fun ! Ron Rich
