Rockola 460 short

by JMLIGON » Mon Dec 16, 2013 3:00 am

Long story short I have been working all day to degunk a Rockola 460. I had removed the microswitch cam to prevent screwing up the switches.
With the gripper arm parallel to the turntable and "jammed", I installed the cam with the #1 Switch seated in the deepest part of the cam. When I turn the machine on the turntable motor spins up for a couple of seconds and then the mechanism breaker trips. Any ideas on what the trouble could be?

Thanks I have a few Wurlitzers under my belt, but this is the first Rockola.

Hi
I would loosen the gripper motor and cycle the gripper arm back to its starting position over the record basket, and install the cam so that micro switch 1 will operate first followed by 2, 2A and 3, micro switches need to be checked with an analog meter. Also gripper arm needs to be free to move, any congealed oil/grease needs to be removed.
