Hi Torin,
The usual reason for this type, of selection playing lamp malfunction, is the phonograph has been transported roughly, or on it's back, without the proper "shipping thumb screws" installed. What has happened is the "contact fingers" that touch the selection now playing contact block, have been "bent". It MAY be possible to re-adjust them upward, as per the Service Manual, or, you may need to "reform" them. Be extremely careful in doing so, as once "kinked", I find it impossible to make them operate correctly--
Also-There should be a "shoe" added to the outside corner of the cradle assembly, that prevents "tilting" the carriage assembly--I included a photo of it in my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide", and I think, an explanation of how to adjust it (.03-.05 clearance between the shoe, and the rail).
The "0 reset" problem, can be anywhere from the small PCB, on the rear of the DEC, thru the DCC, to the DTP. Wires/ plugs are suspect, as well as the components. This will need to be sorted out, using the service manual, or, my "Seeburg MicroLog Trouble Shooting Guide". (should you wish to purchase either, or both, of my guides, please PM me).
ONE CAUTION--while working on the reset problem--un-plug the AC cord for the DCC !
