Wanted: Zenith Allegro Turntable

by Dracologist » Wed Nov 16, 2011 11:19 pm

I'm looking for JUST a Zenith brand Allegro turntable to complete another one of my restoration projects.
I need to have it in WORKING condition and within a reasonable price range.
But, I need just the phonograph part, not the rest of it...
If anyone can help me find what I'm looking for, I'll be SO happy!!!

Zenith used a slightly customized BSR changer in their "Allegro" units.
I would think a suitable BSR unit would fit as well.
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.

But surely there is a more financially-friendly solution to my problem...
Perhaps rewiring another phonograph that could fit inside the gap in the chassis?
I'm just wondering...

I don't understand what you mean by "finanically friendly"...
As in "cheap"?
BSR changers can be had in curb-finds for free -they're plentiful/common/relatively reliable.

They all use the same mounting, and standard connectors, so no need to re-wire anything.

Okay... Thanks MattTech!!! But, it might be hard to find one because I live in a town where old stuff is usually expensive.
But, I'll take your advice and put it to good use... I'll post back with an update!!!! :o

I have the unit you need. Let me know if you still need it. It has been in my upstairs room not used in many years. Only used about 3 years. Great shape.
