Radio repair in Central PA

by GrnDay33 » Thu Oct 23, 2014 1:26 am

Hey guys and gals, I have a 1946 Philco in need of a repair. I was wondering if there were any places in the central Pennsylvania area that anyone has used or would recommend. I'm pretty sure it just needs new caps, and it needs a new power cord. But I wanted someone who knows what they are doing to give it a look over. Thanks

Williamsport is near Jersey Shore Pa & Wellsboro area.
I've got friends out in those towns, lovely area for sure.

I do restorations of the Philcos here at my shop in Philly.
I just took in a 1946 floor console from new jersey.
However, I'm so overwhelmed with work, that I have to put people on a waiting list. (months worth)
By now they all need proper restoration - the years have taken a toll on them.
It's more than capacitors however - dryrotted wiring needs replacing, corrosion of switches needs attention, among other things.
But each one sings perfectly after I'm done.

If you'd like to hop on the list, and patience is with you, great.

The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.
