I do agree with the suggestion that the woofers be refoamed if at all possible. That is a bass-ported enclosure and speaker characteristics are more important than they would be on a simple sealed box (acoustic suspension).
The one speaker change I made on the three Rowe CD machine I had out was to replace the crappy sounding piezo tweeters with Pyle D358 dome tweeters. These are highly efficient 1" domes and they really made the highs much more transparent -even with that rather hard, PA type amp Rowe uses. One note is that you will need to add a second-order (12 db/octave) filter is you use them in these machines. The mounting flanges are plastic and easily redrilled to mount in the same holes as the piezos.
I don't know if the D358 is still available, I used them on all my installations including ceiling speakers during the 1990's. If not, there should be something similar available in the high-end car audio lines.
