Replacing a used needle

Haven't found anything addressing this question so here goes - - -

Is there a proper way of replacing a needle, ie.
how far to set the needle into the cradle and then screw tight ???

Just as you think--place the needle into the hole, as far as it will go--(don't "force")--tighten the screw-- Ron Rich
