Hi Bob,

Why do you not purchase some new rockers for the new 50p and new 10p if you use one of the coin mechs that were set up for the old shilling on the back of the coin mechanism you can adjust this to accept 20p's.

Regards
Alan

Thanks for that Alan, but I didn't pay much more than the face value of the old 50ps I got off eBay, so it's a matter of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
For the amount of use it'll get I'd rather not mess with it. With seven plays for one coin, I think it'll be acceptable with just a few old 50ps.
It's a project that I just want to see through and have the satisfaction of seeing it working. With so many other interest like my golf, koi, electric piano and saxophones it's more a question of having it "there" if you understand what I mean. I could drive my wife mad when I have these projects, but she really doesn't complain as she has projects of her own.

But I appreciate your interest.

Regards,

Bob.

I had some news from Ann Marie of Datasync engineering, yesterday.
So I've a kit for this wall box, hopefully on the way,
If anyone else in the UK intends to buy one, I'm assured that the 9volt adapter shown in the illustration on the website, will for UK customers, be suitable for UK mains voltage.

My kit arrived tonight and as I'd prepared everything else in advance, it was up and running in two minutes.
I'm well pleased with the result.

Riley,
Glad you are pleased--Ann Marie is one great lady--she got my stuff out also--after I called "Grumpy" a couple dozen times. The last time I called, I "know" Ed looked at the ID and yelled for her to answer it ! She did, and I started the conversation by stating that I was glad SHE answered the phone, not him--I asked her how she "puts up with him"--and she could not stop laughing--
I know he will read this--but I don't care---I gots my "stuff", on it's way, for now, and I know I will "fight" with him. again, when I need something else ( as Ed says-"-it's all how you play the game--").-----Ron Rich

Ed,
You are, as always--welcome--and yes, UPS sent me a notice, and, even better then that, your MUCH better half, promised me she would get it out--and I always can count on her word. ( You may THINK I am "a little slow", and maybe you are correct--but I am not crazy !).

On my new to me Rock-Ola 507 wall box, all the lights work now as they should i.e. "Select any single" "1st digit" "2nd digit" and "press reset, reselect" when you press an unobtainable combination.

But there are two other lights "Deposit more Coins" and "Select LP option."

I guess the LP option is not applicable to my box, but should the "Deposit more coins" light come on when the box runs out of credits?
Looking at YouTube videos, I can't even find one where even the "first/second digit" lights etc., are working. So they are no help and there's nothing in the manual.

I've bought another second-hand iPod. I made up a second iTunes playlist of 160 tracks and loaded the iPod then printed off the playlist. I matched the selection numbers to the list. So by just swapping over the iPods, I've a choice of 320 mp3s.

Riley,
I would assume that the "deposit more" lamp would only be turned on when a coin deposit that was too low, is made--as a "prompt", to indicate that the phono saw the coin inserted, but was not going to "give credit" for that small amount--and--
Other wise, the lamp would always be on, and subject to "early" failure--
At least that's how Seeburg's "deposit more coins" lamp operated-- Ron Rich

It could be that Ron.

Or maybe the box can be configured for certain LP 45s to be included.
If so, then maybe the "Select LP option" light would come on when a coin is deposited.
Then perhaps if the pricing for the LP options were more than for a normal 45, if an LP option were selected and insufficient coins had been deposited, the "Deposit more coins" light would come on?

Riley,
Going from what Seeburg did ( If a LP was selected without enough credits, the "rest/re-select" lamp would be lit)--
I am sure, beyond a doubt about the LP ( speed is not determined here) option--but I also assume it was an added cost "kit"---
Do not think it would affect the deposit more lamp, as once enough credit was established, the "single" lamp would be ignited.

I accept as my box hasn't the kit, the "LP Option light" will never come on.

But say if it had and the LP option required two coins and you'd only put in one before a selection of an LP, would the "deposit more coins" light not come on then?

I may just be talking semantics here, but the fact that it says "deposit more coins," rather than, "deposit coins" or "coin" suggests to me, it's saying there ain't enough for the selected record. But I'll admit I don't really know one way or another.

Riley,
Now you are getting as "hard headed" as Mr. Grumpy ( He told me I must refer to him as "Mr." if I wanted to bring up his name). (aside to Mr. Grumpy--I found the "spare parts"--thank your wife for me --please !)
The word "more" being lit up, indicates to me that the phono saw and recognized, whatever was inserted as too small a value to make any selection---in other words "another coin is required to make selection(s)". Ron Rich

I'd go along with that Ron, the machine is only configured to take two different coins, an old 10p for one play and an old 50p for seven, in which case it would be a situation which would not occur, so it would never light up.

Thanks for your help.
