Need Help With My Seeburg 1000 Microwave

I have a Seeburg 1000 Background Music System box and I love it. Recently it has been developing a problem while playing the underside (B side) of a record. When it starts and the needle is about to touch the outer groove of the record, it seems to "float" & skip over towards the end of the record, never playing that side at all. Any ideas on where & what to adjust? Thanks in advance!

Though It's a "microwave" the mechanism is about the same with Seeburg jukeboxes.

now I have to disagree with myself about what I've written. I am wrong – the microwave mech is different than in regular Seeburg jukeboxes.
Another guess is if there's a bias spring in this mechanism which is damaged or worn.

Hi Hildegard,
I have to agree with you--that is a totally different mechanism--but it does have one thing in common with the others--spring quality was excellent.
Unless some "person" "adjusted" ( cut--or stretched) it, I would bet that the spring is not causing the problem. Might be as simple as a lack of lubrication on the tone arm pivot points--or a bad needle ( those require the "red needles"--very difficult to obtain). Ron Rich
